Speaker 1: A person who has suffered a catastrophic injury, that is, an injury that is permanent and very serious, will be affected for the rest of their lives. There are things our personal injury law firm does that are very important to help them recover physically, financially, and emotionally, and to secure the optimal possible outcome. Let’s start with the investigative process. What is important about the investigative process under these circumstances?
Speaker 2: Whenever there has been a catastrophic injury like this, lives are changed. The life of a family is changed. People are concerned about how they are going to pay the mortgage, whether they are going to be able to work again, and whether the things that define their lives are now gone. So, the first thing we want to do is listen to these folks and learn what has happened to them, how this affects them, and what their story is. We want to know who is in their family, where they live, and what they do.
Speaker 1: We want to know their concerns going forward and how we can address them. We want to get to know them because this is a life-changing incident. How can we tell their story if we don’t get to know them? Most firms are just interested in signing the case; that is not what we are about. We want to help people recover physically, financially, and emotionally, so we have to get to know them first. At the same time, the evidence out there is disappearing. Skid marks are gone, videos are erased, and witnesses move. After this catastrophic event, evidence is disappearing by the day. We have our investigative team of former law enforcement people across the state that will go out and gather all this information: videos, skid marks, pictures of cars, and witness statements.
Speaker 2: In my experience, people are interested in whether they will be able to take care of their family. A lot of times, providing for others and being independent have defined them.
