Wilmington, North Carolina (June 24, 2026) – According to the Wilmington Police Department, two people were killed in a crash involving two SUVs and a motorcycle that shut down portions of Oleander Drive on Wednesday afternoon.
Preliminary reports indicate that police officers, firefighters, and Novant EMS responded to the 5900 block of Oleander Drive at approximately 1:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious traffic collision.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a motorcycle and two SUVs involved in the crash. Authorities initially believed the collision involved only one vehicle and the motorcycle, but investigators later confirmed that a second SUV was also involved.
Officials said two people sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead. The occupants of the second SUV suffered only minor injuries and were treated following the crash.
