Fayetteville, NC (Tuesday Afternoon, April 29, 2026) – A single-vehicle crash in Fayetteville has left one woman dead and another injured, according to police.
Officers responded just before midnight Friday to a crash at Raeford Road and the I-295 south entrance ramp, authorities said.
Investigators reported that a 2013 Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on Raeford Road at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to properly negotiate a right turn onto the ramp, resulting in the crash.
The driver, 36-year-old Tyronesha Shanae Sherlock-Benton of Fayetteville, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, 26-year-old Mikayla Love Langhirt, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was reported to be in stable condition.
