Cumberland County, North Carolina (July 10, 2026) – According to preliminary reports, a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning, May 7, along southbound Interstate 95 in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. near Doc Bennett Road. Emergency crews were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of a pedestrian-related collision on the interstate.
When responders arrived, they found the victim lying in the southbound lanes. Life-saving measures, including CPR, were attempted; however, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
