Charlotte, North Carolina (August 15, 2026) – A 22-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder following a high-speed race that led to a fatal four-vehicle crash on Interstate 85 in Charlotte, according to court records and a report published by WBTV.
Julia Henderson was arrested Thursday, August 13, and charged with felony second-degree murder and felony speed competition. Court records indicate Henderson was driving an Audi during a high-speed race that preceded the July crash.
The collision resulted in the death of 17-year-old motorcyclist.
Motorcyclist was being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail without bond.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, on I-85 South near Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte.
