Charlotte, North Carolina (August 28, 2026) – Seven people were seriously injured following a major motor vehicle crash on Interstate 85 South near University City Boulevard Sunday afternoon, according to preliminary information.

Mecklenburg EMS deployed its mass casualty bus to assist with transporting the injured victims following the crash.
Five of the seriously injured individuals were transported by the mass casualty bus, while two others were transported by ambulance.
