Wilmington, North Carolina (September 9, 2026) – A 37-year-old Wilmington man was killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening at the NC 133 and I-140 interchange, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at approximately 6:39 p.m. on September 1 on NC 133, also known as Castle Hayne Road, near I-140.
According to the Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was exiting I-140 onto NC 133 and making a right turn when the operator lost control. The motorcycle overturned and landed in the roadway.
An SUV and a passenger car were both traveling north on NC 133 at the time of the crash. The SUV struck the overturned motorcycle, while the passenger car struck debris from the collision, according to troopers.
The motorcycle operator died at the scene. The victim was identified as a 37-year-old man from Wilmington. His name was withheld by the Highway Patrol out of respect for his family.
